RI District 7610 Group Study Exchange is gearing up for a four-week trip beginning in mid-April to District 3710, Gwangju Korea.

The team led by Colleen Bonadonna, a past president of West Point Club, is excited to share their vocational experiences, looking forward to learning about our life on the other side of the globe, and preparing to make new friendships.

With the selections made we held our first team meeting yesterday at the Cannon Ridge Country Club.  The four talented team members are:

Brandon Gibbs: sponsored by the Matthews Club, Brandon is a program director with the YMCA, this will be his first international trip and we have assured him he will be a rock star with his golden hair.

Nate Mauer: sponsored by the Arlington Club, Nate is the CEO of America's Future Work Force, I can already see Nate coordinating activities for this journey.

Crystal McKinsey, sponsored by the Warrenton Club, Crystal is the CEO of McKinsey Development, Crystal is going to take the lead in designing our group presentation.  Her background is a huge asset in this area.

Candace Riddle, is a Standards of Practice Manager with NIGP, became engaged over the weekend and we are all excited for her, she too will turn heads with her blonde tresses.

On our first day as a team, we got to know one another, what our mission is while in Korea, some fun facts about Korean culture, Rotary and passed out the casual uniforms. Of course as with most Rotary events it was held over lunch, also in attendance were Steve Aycock the Outbound GSE Chair and Sean Broderick, Crystal's husband. My fiancee' Dan stopped by at the end and was able to meet the team.

After the holidays we will travel to Greensboro to take part in the Zone meeting to learn more about the GSE journey as well as meet other outbound teams.  Our neighboring District 7600 is also going to Korea so I am confident we will be sharing much information.
